The parents of a social media star killed in the Manchester Arena attack said they realised how many 'lives he touched' when a Twitter post transformed his mum's flagging business

During the school holidays his stepfather would set up a camcorder in his room and he would"while away the day performing in front of it.""I didn't understand Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter," Mr Murray, a GP in Stockport, Cheshire, said."I didn't understand what it meant to have thousands of followers, I didn't get that he was making other people smile, sharing stories and sometimes helping them through hard times.

"I didn't understand how many people would get to know him just by his presence in the virtual world, that he could touch their lives and was forging a career as an A-list celebrity on Twitter."Appearances on Channel 4's Come Dine with Me, Tattoo Fixers, his status as a Coronation Street superfan, a Deidre Barlow enthusiast and his obsession with the singer Mariah Carey were beginning to define him and direct his life, Mr Murray said.

"They've put the rules of life to one side and told them life's too short. There's no time for hate, there's barely enough time for love."If you want to try something you never have, do it this weekend, if you want to go to a place you've never been, go this afternoon.
