Manchester City , defending champions, will also face UAE's Al Ain and Moroccan team Wydad AC, while Chelsea will compete against Tunisian team Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Brazilian team Flamengo . The new tournament, to be hosted in the United States , will feature 32 teams and is subject to legal challenges in Europe.
Both English teams qualified based on their Champions League victories in 2023 and 2021. The tournament will kick off on June 15 with a clash between Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Egyptian team Al Ahly
