Greater Manchester's junior doctors and consultants are heading out on the ninth month of strike action across NHS hospitals from today .
Health chiefs in Greater Manchester have once again warned that disruption because of industrial action will be 'unavoidable'. Greater Manchester's NHS system has issued key advice for anyone needing medical help over August.NHS Greater Manchester, which runs health services across the region, says it is prioritising resources to protect emergency treatment and critical care, minimise impact on patients and maintain patient safety.
"However, services are likely to feel different for patients, and we could see longer waits when busy in emergency departments, non-urgent outpatient appointments rescheduled and treatment being postponed, though people should still attend their appointments unless they have been contacted and told not to.
