Manchester Forever, a one-day dance event celebrating the 'golden age of rave music', will take place at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Greater Manchester on May 3rd. The event will feature a lineup of iconic 90s rave performers and aims to recreate the full-scale fairground experience of the era.
Greater Manchester will be hosting a one-day dance event celebrating the golden age of rave music later this year. Taking place at Bowlers Exhibition Centre on the May Bank Holiday (May 3), Manchester Forever has been hailed as the biggest celebration of the 90s Manchester rave scene and will feature an expansive line-up of performers.
The ten-hour celebration will feature the likes of Tall Pall, K Klass, Angie Brown, Bassman, Vinylgroover across four arena stages, which will be set up to represent a full-scale 90s fairground experience. Headlining the event will be Fabio & Grooverider, pioneers of Jungle and Classic DnB, Hardcore legends Force & Styles and acid house pioneer Danny Rampling. A number of performers on the bill, including the likes of Hype, Ratpack, Slipmatt, and Scott Brown, have been chosen for their instrumental role in shaping the underground rave culture that defined the 1990s. Project ONE-X, the organisers behind the event, said the Stretford location of choice for the full-scale spectacle has also been for an important reason too. They said: “Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre was more than a venue in the 90s - it was the beating heart of the UK’s rave culture. “This expansive 84,000-square-foot space hosted legendary events like Helter Skelter, Life, Asylum, and Fantasia, drawing thousands of dance music enthusiasts to its storied halls. “Known for its euphoric atmosphere and unparalleled energy, Bowlers remains synonymous with rave culture, and Manchester Forever will reignite this legacy with a modern yet nostalgic twist.” The organisers have previously been behind the popular Sanctuary Forever show, which took place in November in Milton Keynes - marking a return of the city’s famed Sanctuary Music Arena to its original location after shuttering after 11 years in 2004. Speaking about what Manchester Forever has in store, Project ONE-X added: 'This isn’t just an event; it’s a movement
