A popular Manchester nightclub has suddenly closed its doors for good after 13 years.
The Birdcage was known for its cabaret nights and flamboyant drag acts and dancers, and had been a firm fixture in a Mancunian night out for more than a decade. But yesterday it closed its doors for the last time, much to the surprise of staff and nightclub-goers alike.David Allinson, centre director at Manchester Arndale, where The Birdcage is located, told theThe popular hen party destination has so far not given a reason for its closure ‘We have worked closely with The Birdcage and are disappointed that the club has decided to close,’ he said.
