'We are incredibly sorry for the short notice'
A Manchester theatre has been forced to cancel a performance this evening just hours before the show had been due to take place. On Friday, the Royal Exchange Theatre began its run of a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream featuring modern references to Manchester's contemporary rave scene.
Coronation Street and Strictly Come Dancing stars announced for Chicago musical heading to Manchester In the email, which has been shared with the Manchester Evening News , the theatre said: “We are writing to let you know that unfortunately due to technical difficulties we are cancelling tonight’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We are incredibly sorry for the short notice.” In the email, ticket holders have been given the opportunity to reschedule their tickets for a later screening.
