Having been discouraged from an immediate move for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane, United manager Erik ten Hag has held multiple video calls with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Hojlund, 20, has struck 15 goals in 41 games for Atalanta, having only moved to Italy from Austrian side Sturm Graz last year. He has plundered six goals in five games for Denmark.
