It's the first Manchester derby of the season this weekend and Man City are the favourites to beat Man United at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a tactically flawed Manchester United manager but he knew how to get a Manchester derby result.
Solskjaer even did the league double over Guardiola in the 2019/20 season and that would be almost unthinkable now. United were hammered at the Etihad last term and they were inferior in the FA Cup final. That counter-attacking blueprint was successful against City and Erik ten Hag secured his first derby win with a similar approach in January, following late goals in quick succession from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
The last two scorelines in the derby have been 2-1 and that suggests there's not much between the two sides on any given day, however, United have regressed this season and fans are braced for the worst this weekend. Although United have attempted to play a more expansive style this season and Andre Onana was signed to accelerate that process, the change has backfired and the best chance of a result against City will be counter-attacking.
