Manchester United are said to be 'keeping tabs' on Lyon attacking-midfielder Rayan Cherki ahead of a potential move for him next year.
Cherki, who is also said to be generating interest from Newcastle United, is under contact at Lyon until June 2025. That means next summer's transfer window could represent Lyon's last meaningful opportunity to sell him for a respectable fee.READ MORE: United know what to do to help Rasmus Hojlund Lyon are currently bottom of Ligue 1 this season, meaning the prospect of relegation would only decrease their chances of retaining Cherki. As well as playing as an attacking-midfielder he can also operate as a winger, fulfilling the duty on either flank.
The 19-year-old, who is a defensive-midfielder, is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe, earning regular plaudits. Despite his young age, he has already cemented himself as a key player at Benfica.
