Manchester United's victory in the derby was overshadowed by their ongoing struggles defending set pieces. The team has conceded numerous goals from corners this season, highlighting a vulnerability that needs addressing.
Manchester United might have won the derby in dramatic fashion on Sunday, but their set piece failing once again almost proved their undoing. Chelsea, Ipswich Town, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and, more recently, Manchester City have breached United from corners so far this season. At the beginning of the game, we suffered in the first play, (so) it is hard then to put energy in the team. But we managed to do it.” The weakness from set-piece situations was on show again when the Reds played Nottingham Forest in a humbling 3-2 loss. Forest secured their first Old Trafford win since in 20 years, in part down to United’s inability to defend the set-pieces with Forest’s Nikola Milenkovic heading his team into the lead from an early corner and setting the tone for a difficult evenin
