Man Utd fans will be thankful the takeover process is coming to a head although there is still some red tape to go through first.
A conclusion looks to have been reached in the Manchester United takeover process almost 11 months after it first began.
A number of United fans have already promised to continue their protests against the owners, who told Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani this month that his £5bn offer for the whole club was below expectations. His withdrawal from the process left Ratcliffe’s newly-devised proposal the only one at the table.
Ratcliffe faces ‘delay’ Fans wanting Ratcliffe through the door before January are set to be disappointed, it seems. The Mail is reporting that the INEOS chief’s takeover bid is not on the agenda of this week’s pre-planned meeting with the details of the deal still being fine-tuned. The report says that Ratcliffe’s primary intention is to conduct a review of the club’s sporting hierarchy. This was the case in 2022 at OGC Nice, owned by INEOS, when Sir Dave Brailsford was tasked with an audit. As a result, CEO Richard Arnold’s position is under threat.
