Man United's U19s defeated Galatasaray 3-0 in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday and Dan Gore captained the team.
Manchester United youngster Dan Gore has almost certainly just enjoyed the most memorable seven days of his life so far.
"It means everything, growing up as a United fan [along with] my whole family, it means a lot to them and they were all here supporting me.” I think being around world-class players, day in and day out, has really helped me improve my game a lot. Gore was perhaps overshadowed by Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho during that Youth Cup campaign, but he's came into his own since then and the last week has been a test of his mentality after making his first-team debut.
Gore has been compared to Frenkie de Jong because of his style and it's fascinating to see a new generation of talent emerging from the academy that are so comfortable on the ball and technically brilliant in tight spaces. The biggest chance of the game came shortly after the interval when Omari Forson burst into life in the centre of the pitch and drove into the Galatasaray box, only for his shot to be saved from close range and turned over.
