Fashion retailer Mango is set to open a new store in the heart of Belfast city centre, occupying one of the units in the former Argos store. The new store will feature the brand's 'Mediterranean-inspired store concept' and is expected to open later in 2025.

Fashion retailer Mango is set to open a new store in the heart of Belfast city centre. Plans submitted to Belfast City Council have been given the green light for the Spanish clothing giants to open a shop with a 500m2 shop floor on William Street South. The new Mango shop will take up one of the units in the former Argos store - with luxury shoe and accessory brand Russell & Bromley also opening its first NI store at the site.

Mango currently has a store in the neighbouring Victoria Square Shopping Centre and it is unclear whether it will leave the centre when the William Street South store opens its doors. A spokesperson for the fashion retailer told Belfast Live that the new shop will feature the 'Mediterranean-inspired store concept' and will open later in 2025. \They said: 'Mango, one of the international leading fashion groups, continues its international expansion plan in the United Kingdom with a new store in Belfast, in William Street South. 'The new store, planned for later this year, will have a selling space of 500 m2 and stock products from the Woman line exclusively. 'In addition, the store will feature the Mediterranean-inspired store concept, New Med, which showcases the brand’s spirit and freshness. 'Architectural integration and sustainability are key in this new design, which conceives the Mango store as a Mediterranean home with different rooms in which warm tones and neutral colours predominate, combined with traditional, artisanal, sustainable and natural materials.' \The opening of this store is part of Mango's 2024-2026 Strategic Plan, which was created with the aim of promoting the company's differential value proposition, its commitment to innovation and sustainability, and boosting sales through a major expansion of its store portfolio and the growth of all its lines and channels. The spokesperson continued: 'Mango has been present in the UK since 1999. 'Last year Mango the company opened more than 15 stores in the country, including its first international Mango Teen store, ending the year with more than 40 points of sale in the UK as well as a digital presence through its own online channel and other marketplaces.' Mango's Victoria Square store first opened in 2014 and they recently announced the opening of two further stores in Northern Ireland at Foyleside in Derry and Rushmere in Craigavon
