Investigators said Kangethe and Mbitu knew each other, and that the killing was ‘not a random act.’ According to an arrest warrant issued for Kangethe, Mbitu was found ‘unresponsive’ in her passenger seat. Investigators observed a ‘large amount of blood’ in the vehicle. She had large slash wounds to her face and neck, as well as a puncture wound to her side. Kangethe was seen leaving the same parking garage early on Tuesday morning. He entered the terminal and boarded a flight for Kenya.
