A massive police manhunt has been launched after a British Army soldier escaped from prison in London this morning. Daniel Abed Khalife, 22, was reported to police after escaping from HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday, September 6.
He is of slim build, has short brown hair and is around 6ft 2ins tall. Khalife has links to the Kingston area. It is believed he most likely remains in the London area at this time, although he may have travelled further afield. We previously told how thousands of travellers at the Glasgow travel hub were facing major delays. Glasgow resident Marie-Louise Burman told the Record: "The airport have now started making tannoy announcements saying the disruption is due to a ‘national incident’ and police are checking every ID after you have gone through security/before you go into departure gates.
“After about an hour it started moving and I got through the x-ray. That’s when I saw the other queue. The police had set a checkpoint up just before you entered duty free and every passenger had to go through a passport check by border force officers.
