Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan announced on Friday, Nov. 11, the Manila Zoo’s admission rates and new reopening date.

According to Mayor Honey, the reopening of the Manila Zoo, formally known as Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, will be moved from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21 to give way for the final preparations needed. “Sa pakiusap ng mga stall owners para lalo nila mapaganda at mapag handaan ang tuluyang pagbubukas ng Manila Zoo, minabuti natin na ipagpaliban muna ang pag bukas ng Manila Zoo from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21 ,” the mayor said in her social media address, The Capital Report.She said Manilans, senior citizens, and persons with disability will be given special discounts.

The previous city administration under former mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso initiated the zoo’s renovation project worth P1.7 billion last 2020.
