Pellegrini isn't sweating it over his keepers despite his No.1 being out and his deputy facing a late fitness check before the Ibrox clash.
Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini admits he’s keeping fingers crossed veteran shot-stopper Claudio Bravo pulls through to face Rangers.
The 24-year-old B-team back-up might have to step in again as the Spaniards kick-off their Group C campaign in Glasgow if former Barcelona and Manchester City shot-stopper Bravo, 40, fails to recover from a calf issue. But Pellegrini is not worrying yet about who will have to pull on the gloves, saying: “Claudio did train. But we will wait until tomorrow to see and make absolutely sure that Claudio is 100 percent to play against Rangers.
Pellegrini sent out a star-studded side containing five-times Champions League winner Isco, former Barca defender Marc Bartra and ex-Arsenal ace Hector Bellerin at the Nou Camp. But his team proved no match for the Catalan kings as they were swept aside. And Pellegrini admits his side are going to have to show a better fight as they square up to Gers.
“I was here in 2006 with Villarreal and we managed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League that season. We also played Celtic a couple of years ago with Betis and while we didn't win, we still qualified from the group.
