Manchester United news as Manuel Ugarte appears in front of new fans for the first time before Liverpool clash
Manuel Ugarte couldn't hide his excitement and happiness at being presented as a Manchester United player ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Liverpool. The 23-year-old, who completed a deadline day transfer to United, was in attendance at Old Trafford for the first time.
Ten Hag got his man though with United's new No.25 joining a host of fresh faces at the club. Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazrauoi, and Joshua Zirkzee were all handed starts. Ugarte was not signed in time to be registered before the 12pm Friday deadline, meaning that although he trained with his teammates ahead of the match, there was nothing he could do to influence the result.
Donned in bright white trainers, black trousers, and the clean pre-match anthem jacket with a cap, Ugarte expressed his gratitude to those watching before heading to watch the game from the stands. He will now move on to meet up with his national side before aiming to make a debut away to Southampton following the upcoming break.
Instagram Ugarte started his time at United online, saying, "Ready to represent. A new chapter is about to begin." He will be hopeful of this move succeeding more than his 12 months in Paris, which ended after a sole season in Ligue 1.
