Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte worked with Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP before leaving to join Paris Saint-Germain
Manuel Ugarte has praised Darren Fletcher for his role in helping players understand the significance of playing for Manchester United, following confirmation that he will remain at the club. The recent appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach has brought about significant changes at Old Trafford, including the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"We all know what it means to be United, with the history we have," Ugarte told the club's official website. "The history, the fans, the mystique. I understand this responsibility and that starts with the day-to-day, being 100 per cent focused on the football and ready to win trophies. It's one of the biggest clubs in Portugal and I was very proud. I enjoyed my time at Famalicao and also at Sporting, where I spent almost three years. Lisbon is amazing – the city, the people, the club, my team-mates. Everything.
