Nylander missed the opening games of his team's first round series against the Boston Bruins with an undisclosed injury.
The Toronto Maple Leafs might get a key player back in the lineup for Game 3 of their series against the Boston Bruins.Wednesday morning that “there’s a chance” forward William Nylander could be on the ice when the series shifts to Toronto on Wednesday night.
Nylander was the only Leafs player to appear in all 82 regular season games this year but did not play in either of the first two playoff games due to an undisclosed injury. He was second on the team in total points with 98, behind only Auston Matthews. Nylander took part in some drills before Monday’s Game 2 but was a full participant Wednesday’s morning skate for the first time since the injury.
The Leafs will be counting on Nylander to provide an offensive boost if he’s able to go in Game 3. Toronto lost the first game of the series 5–1 before bouncing back to win the second game 3–2. Matthews missed Wednesday morning’s workout but Keefe said he was just getting some extra rest and there was no doubt he would be in the lineup for Game 3.
