Marc Jacobs' spring/summer 2025 show featured a unique beauty concept inspired by traditional beauty stickers. Make-up artist Dame Pat McGrath created a look using two-dimensional velvet shapes in various colors, applied strategically to each model's face, referencing iconic beauty trends like Marilyn Monroe's beauty marks and Korean bridal traditions. Hair was styled in tight, historical curls piled atop the head, adding to the play on dimension and historical references.
Beauty stickers – like our favourite patches to simultaneously treat and conceal acne – were reborn in the eyes of Marc Jacobs last night at his spring/summer 2025 show. “The collection is a play on dimension, shape, and form,” says make-up doyenne Dame Pat McGrath, who created the look, backstage at the show. “We are playing with two-dimensional shapes on each of the models’ faces.
The largest circles of red on the cheeks recall the beauty tradition of Korean brides, or the signature look of Vogue contributor Lynn Yaeger, who attended the show. “Anywhere you see a spot, it’s representative of beauty. Maybe it’s blushing cheeks or a kiss on the lips,” McGrath adds. The hair, on the other hand, was anything but flat. Hairstylist Duffy , is cool and collected backstage as he brushes out a model’s curls. “The texture is quite historical and romantic,” he tells me.
