Frankie Carchedi analyses the Australian MotoGP
Marquez fell to 13th on the first lap after a bad start caused by his visor tear-off falling beneath his own bike, but fought back to edge Jorge Martin.Crew chief Carchedi told TNT Sports: “The plan was just to sit behind Jorge, save the tyres as much as possible, and have a go at the end.
Carchedi was asked if they expected Martin to settle for P2 because it consolidated his own title advantage. Martin did not desperately lunge at Marquez in the closing stages in a last-gasp attempt to win the Australian MotoGP.
