President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has left the Philippines for back-to-back trips to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore from May 28 to 31.
The President will be in Brunei first for a two-day state visit upon the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam. During his stay in Brunei, Mr. Marcos will meet Brunei’s Sultan and top business leaders to discuss trade and investment ties between the two countries.
He will also meet with the Filipino community to highlight the contributions of over 25,000 Filipinos living in Brunei. Meanwhile, the President will visit Singapore to deliver the keynote address at the 21st International Institute for Strategic Studies Shangri-La Dialogue.Marcos will also meet Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to strengthen diplomatic relations. Additionally, he will have a brief meeting with former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
