President Marcos on Tuesday assured the public that his working relationship with Vice President Sara Duterte will not be affected amid the feud between her and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Mr. Marcos, however, expressed appreciation for his wife for protecting him against critics of his administration. Regarding the move to replace Duterte as the current Education Secretary, Marcos said he would only remove those who are not doing their job as cabinet secretary, and he would not be swayed by personal conflict to kick someone from their post.
The First Lady previously bared she holds a grudge against the Vice President for her part in a protest in Davao against Charter change and reportedly laughing when former President Rodrigo Duterte referred to Marcos as “Unless she says sorry or whatever, maybe she will… she crossed the line,” Araneta-Marcos said on the possibility of burying the hatchet between her and Duterte.
