President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is looking forward to visiting Mongolia.

He expressed his interest in going to the East Asian country after Mongolian Ambassador to the Philippines Enkhbayar Sosorbaram paid a courtesy call on him on Monday and extended President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh for him to visit their country sometime in June or August, when the weather is fine.In visiting Mongolia, the President said he looks forward to bolstering its ties with the Philippines on areas of agriculture, energy, education and basic services, among others.

“So these are the areas that I think that other countries we can cooperate in. And the two-way exchanges is always to the advantage of both sides,” Marcos told Sosorbaram. “I’m looking forward to not only the visit—to visit your country, to visit Mongolia, but I’m looking forward to seeing our relationship grow and have much closer ties with Mongolia in the future,” he added.

The Mongolian diplomat responded to the President by first recognizing the country’s importance in the Southeast Asian region in collaborating with his country in the United Nations. He also said people-to-people exchange is an important part of the two countries bilateral relations, which were established in 1973.
