Marikina City Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro announced on Friday, April 14, that the city government will grant amnesty to delinquent real property and business taxpayers as part of the city government's bid to help them recover from the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and other prevailing social and economic issues in the country.
According Teodoro, he has signed Ordinance No. 025, Series of 2023 or the Ordinance Granting Amnesty on Interests of Delinquent Real Property Tax Payers in the City of Marikina and Ordinance No. 026, Series of 2023 or the Ordinance Granting Amnesty on Surcharges and Interests of Delinquent Business Taxpayers of the City of Marikina.
Under the said ordinances, residents and business owners will no longer have to pay penalties, surcharges, or interests for late payments until Dec. 31.
