Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina is set to make his return to the team after being sidelined for several weeks. The 31-year-old Gabon international, who joined Wolves from Southampton in 2021, was deemed unavailable for selection by former manager Gary O'Neil last month. This decision stemmed from Lemina's reported refusal to participate in training and his subsequent clash with West Ham's Jarrod Bowen during a Premier League match in December.
Following the clash, Lemina was stripped of the Wolves captaincy by then-manager Gary O'Neil.Following a spell as head coach, O'Neil was replaced by Julen Lopetegui in November. However, Lemina remained unavailable for selection. It was reported that Lopetegui intended to keep Lemina out of the squad until the January transfer window closed. Lemina has since been training with the Wolves squad and is now expected to be available for selection once again.Wolves, currently struggling in 17th place in the Premier League, desperately need a boost in form. They are just two points above the relegation zone after a disappointing season. Lemina's return could provide much-needed experience and stability to the midfield. Wolves fans will be hoping that Lemina can rediscover his best form and help the team secure their Premier League status for next season
