The Georgia Republican rejected a series of spending bills earlier this month that included funding for seven different projects in her district.
Two days after President Joe Biden signed a handful of government spending bills into law on March 9, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene sent out a press release detailing the funding amount she 'secured' in the measures for projects within her district. The release failed to mention, however, that Greene, a Republican, voted against the passage of the federal funding bills that are granting her constituents the money.
Greene's office said in the release that the congresswoman was 'proud to announce that she has successfully secured federal funding' after she 'meticulously sought out projects that would improve quality of life, increase economic and social development, assist localities with vital funding needs, and harness community support.'A total of 83 Republicans and two Democrats voted against the minibus on March 6.
