Mark Goldbridge has called for Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold to leave his role if Mason Greenwood is reinstated by the club.
Mark Goldbridge has called for Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold to leave his role if claims made in a report on Mason Greenwood are proven to be true.reported on Wednesday that Arnold had told United's executive leadership of the club's plans to bring Greenwood back.
The report also claims that Arnold intended to record a video explaining the decision, which would then be shared with staff and the public, and that Greenwood would not make any appearances with the Manchester United Foundation in the 'short to medium-term'.United are currently undergoing an internal investigation into Greenwood, which began in February.
The forward was suspended by the club in January 2022 after he was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October.that a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses, and new material that came to light, meant there was"no longer a realistic prospect of conviction".Greenwood has remained suspended throughout United's internal investigation process, and is not training at the club.
If the Athletic piece is true Richard Arnold needs to go. His handling of this whole Greenwood matter has been insensitive and embarrassing. Totally out of touch and arrogant as usual
