A fashion writer praises Marks and Spencer for its consistently stylish and trend-setting clothing, highlighting its popularity among shoppers of all ages.
Being a fashion writer means that I get to write about different high street stores every single day. After researching and talking about a ton of different products on a weekly basis, there's always one store that constantly knocks it out of the park. In terms of style and aesthetic, this high street store in particular does it right. Throughout the year, it has hit the nail on the head for trends and is suitable for all ages.
If you haven't guessed which store I'm talking about yet - it's Marks and Spencer. It's not only popular with me, but our readers too, and has some staple items such as jeans and knitwear that shoppers swear by. Back in August last year, I got some style advice from the Marks and Spencer's clothing director Maddy Evans. You can read my full interview here. Maddy Evans joined the high street retailer in 2019 after coming from Topshop. Since then, M&S pieces have become viral TikToks, with a vast age range of women enjoying what the store has to offer. If I'm being completely honest, I'd never really saw the appeal with Marks & Spencer's clothing until a few years ago. When I was younger I was always under the impression that its fashion range was for older women, and wasn't particularly stylish. Whilst chatting to Maddy, I asked her to show me what jeans are consistently selling well. She told me that wide leg jeans, mom jeans and kick flare jeans are all best-sellers. According to inside M&S stats, one in five women own a pair of jeans from the retailer. This pair of iconic wide leg jeans has over 1.3k reviews online from shoppers and comes in seven different shades - it's very clear to see with the lack of sizes available that they must be popular.
