As MAFS viewers reel from the news that fan favourites Georges Bert and Peggy Rose have sadly parted ways, we take a closer look at which MAFS 2023 couples are still together
Last autumn, countless viewers were hooked on E4 reality show Married at First Sight UK, when a new batch of lovelorn singles agreed to take part in an experiment to see if a panel of experts could help them to find their matching other half.
Georges Berthonneau and Peggy Rose - SPLIT When Georges Berthonneau, 30 and Peggy Rose, 32 first met last year, sparks instantly flew between the pair based on their mutual physical attraction, however that excitement soon began to cool when Peggy’s sister brutally accused Georges of being rude on the pair’s own wedding day!
Although the couple did experience a few hiccups along the way, including a few explosive arguments with her co-stars, Paul continued to stand by his wife for the duration of the show. Despite a few bumps, the couple worked through any issues and pledged their commitment to each other during the final vows. Jordan even boldly declaring that he wanted to build a future with Erica outside of the experiment - a sentiment she seems to share, when she added: that it was "only the beginning”.
Since the show concluded, Nathanial has also been critical of the series outright and even accused it of being “scripted” and fake, as he claimed that taking part had “broken him”. Luke Worley and Jay Howard- SPLIT Luke Worley and Jay Howard, both 31, quickly became fan favourites when they took part in Married at First Sight last year, but their idyllic romance soon took a turn for the worst when Luke found himself caught up in a physics altercation with fellow groom Jordan Gayle. As a result of the violent confrontation, Luke was asked to leave the show in line with the strict zero tolerance policy for abusive behaviour.
Arthur Poremba and Laura Vaughan- SPLIT Another couple who sadly didn’t go the distance are Arthur Poremba, 35 and Laura Vaughan, 34, with the pair also failing to hit it off at the start of the show. Things first got off to a rocky start when Laura confessed that Arthur was far from her “usual type”.
Despite Bianca’s attempts to win him over, JJ refused to engage with her on any level and repeatedly gaslit her for “pressuring” him, when she simply wanted to be acknowledged rather than ignored. In a cruel twist however, it soon emerged that JJ had cheated on her with fellow bride Ella Morgan, something which only came to light during a particularly brutal dinner party.
