Energy regulator Ofgem has announced that the energy price cap will rise by 1.2 per cent from 1 January 2025 - increasing electricity and gas bills for people across the UK
Martin Lewis has offered one piece of money-saving advice to consumers after it was announced the energy price cap was set to rise. The financial expert said people should be looking to move onto a fixed tariff after energy regulator Ofgem confirmed the price cap would increase by 1.2 per cent on 1 January 2025. The energy price cap is a cap on standing charges and unit rates so when it increases, so do people’s energy bills .

Everybody else - if you haven't chosen your tariff or if you’ve come off a fix and done nothing, you are on the standard tariff of your firm and that is price cap.
