Martin Lewis has revealed that the Attendance Allowance benefit could be worth between £3,778 and £7,956 a year, and that as many as 1.1 million people across the UK are missing out
Money-saving guru Martin Lewis has highlighted that millions of state pensioners are still not claiming a benefit that could be worth up to nearly £8,000 a year.
Martin emphasised that there isn't a specific list of qualifying conditions; it could be any mental or physical disability or illness, as long as it significantly affects the individual's life. Through his MSE newsletter, Martin Lewis clarified: "Basic Attendance Allowance is worth £73 a week - that's £3,778 a year. There are two rates of AA:- Need help during the day OR night? You get the lower rate of £73/wk .- Need help during BOTH the day and night? You get the higher rate of £109/wk .- Have less than 12 months to live? You get the higher rate of £109/wk .
