The financial guru says there's one cash payout which millions of people are missing out on and the deadline is fast approaching due to the new tax year
Martin Lewis is urging roughly two million people who are owed money by HMRC to act now before a fast approaching deadline to get £1,256 cash into your bank account.
Martin said that there's one cash payout which millions of people are missing out on and the deadline is fast approaching due to the new tax year. "The first one is for people who are married, this is the Marriage Tax Allowance. If you don't apply now you may lose about £250. There are around a staggering 2.1M couples out there who are eligible for this and are not claiming it."
Martin explained that couples can save on tax by transferring 10% of their tax allowance to their spouse, which could result in a cheque if it's backdated. He said: "If so the non-taxpayer applies to Gov.Uk to transfer 10% of their tax free allowance."
