The former Bake Off judge can always be relied upon to deliver a quality cake
Now that Bake Off is back on our screens many of us will be yearning after a proving draw and spending a fortune on ingredients that you can only buy from strange websites. The more realistic among us will be searching for the perfect recipe that doesn't require a degree in chemistry and a month of preparation.
Fortunately, there are lots of great recipes out there including a very straightforward one from the legendary former Bake Off judge herself, Mary Berry. It's proved really popular too, earning nearly a five-star rating on the BBC Food website The recipe states: "Chocolate cake meets Victoria sponge in Mary's easiest ever chocolate cake recipe filled with cream and jam." It takes less than half an hour to prepare, between 10-30 minutes to bake and makes between 8-10 portions.
