Mary Earps was today made a Member of the Order of the British Empire at Windsor Castle as she joined VIPs including Gladiator director Sir Ridley.

'A gladiator? Oh I don't know, I don't know if I can act, I don't know if I've got it in the locker but I'm willing to give most things a go,' joked Earps. Earps said this weekend's Women's FA Cup final will be the 'highlight' of her football season, adding: 'Bring it on.' 'But I think we've got a fantastic team and I have every belief in the quality of the girls individually and collectively even more.
Sir Ridley was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire, with photographs showing him proudly receiving his medal from the senior royal.
