Grecale makes a camouflaged preview, it actually looks cool in that skin
due to the ongoing chip shortage. That means the reveal could happen between late March to mid-June this year.
Today, the Italian automaker has released new photos of the soon-to-be-revealed Grecale undergoing cold-climate testing in Sweden. Unlike the previous spy shots, Maserati has removed more camouflage, allowing us to get a closer look at the new compact luxury crossover. While we originally mentioned it may look like the Levante, the new photos proved us otherwise. Thanks to the lighter camouflage, we were able to catch a glimpse of its bold grille, sporty front bumper, and eye-catching LED headlights. Also present are the inverted L-shaped LED taillights, multi-spoke alloy wheels, muscular fenders, the angular D-pillar, and the stylish tailgate.
Details about its powertrain are still a mystery, but Maserati did say that it will have different driving modes. From tarmac to dirt, as well as snow and ice, Maserati is making sure the Grecale can cover any terrain once it hits the market. Maserati may have been late to the crossover game, but with a name derived from an ‘easterly wind that blows in the western Mediterranean Sea and France’, can the Grecale blow away competitors like the BMW X3 or Porsche Macan?
