Joel Dommett, host of The Masked Singer, has seemingly feuded with Rita Ora, a former judge on the show, after criticizing her judging style and praising Maya Jama's replacement.
Joel Dommett , host of The Masked Singer , has fueled feud rumors after appearing to criticize one of the show's judges. The guessing game has been a hit since its first series in 2020 but Dommett didn't hold back when it came to commenting on one of the show's former judges. Rita Ora , who previously appeared on the first five seasons of the program, has opted to focus on her role as a judge on the US version instead.
Dommett suggested that Ora wasn't great at her job of uncovering who was behind the mask and confessed that Maya Jama was a 'great replacement'. He recalled Ora's judging style, saying she would 'go through her phone and pick the first person who came up in her contacts, just pick someone really, really famous! Both Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross have been on the panel since the first episode, with Mo Gilligan joining in the second series, replacing US-based actor Ken Jeong. Elsewhere in the interview, Dommett admitted that he has been bombarded by fans turning up at his home shouting 'take it off', in response to the show's catchphrase. This forced him to make some major changes to ensure his privacy. He revealed: 'I do get ‘take it off’ shouted at me a lot – at one point people were shouting it at my house. 'I had to get a gate and make the hedge bigger because people kept knocking on my door shouting ‘take it off’ and then running away…' Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is set to return in 2025. Sadly, not all of this year's whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner
