Despite returning from a hamstring injury, Mason Mount's role at Manchester United is uncertain due to tactical changes during his absence. The arrival of Ugarte and the form of Zirkzee and Eriksen have shifted the team's dynamic, leaving limited opportunities for Mount.
Mason Mount has spent much of his time as a Manchester United player injured, but the latest setback may be the most ill-timed.
Mount started the season as an advanced midfielder behind Bruno Fernandes. However, his absence from the side has seen Joshua Zirkzee lead the line with the United captain playing off him. Speaking this week, United boss Ten Hag hinted that Mount will have to be eased back into action following his latest setback, meaning chances to impress may, for the time being at least, be more limited.
But the United manager is reputedly still backing the midfielder. "Erik ten Hag is really supporting Mason Mount," Fabrizio Romano claimed on his eponymous YouTube channel.
