At least five people are injured stemming from an illegal sideshow in Oakland overnight, police said.
A sideshow erupted in chaos after five people were injured in a mass shooting in Oakland overnight, police said. The shootings occurred around 3:45 a.m. Sunday near Fruitvale Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. Police said all of the victims were attending the sideshow. The extent of their injuries wasn't provided, but police did say they were last listed in stable condition.
The governor also committed last month to quadrupling the number of shifts conducted by CHP officers in the city. "Unfortunately, the Oakland police force is understaffed, so more police patrols, I think, would help," said Tammy Brice, who lives just blocks from where the sideshow took place. "There’s always been sideshows when I was in high school and such, and now it’s just more prevalent.
