Massive lineman from Alabama high school joins Pittsburgh Steelers as NFL waiver claim

Pittsburgh claimed Doss, who worked at tackle and guard with Baltimore, after first-round draft pick Troy Fautanu sustained a knee injury on Friday night in the Steelers’ preseason opener – a 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans. The knee injury is expected to sideline the rookie offensive tackle for two weeks.

A prep standout at Aliceville, Doss played for the Yellow Jackets when they reached the AHSAA Class 1A championship game in the 2016 season.Doss signed with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie on May 5, 2023, and he spent last season on Baltimore’s practice squad without appearing in a regular-season game. Doss re-signed with the Ravens on Jan. 29.
