The BBC has appointed a major City law firm to lead the investigation into alleged misconduct by MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace during filming of the cookery show
Banijay UK, the producer behind MasterChef, has appointed law firm Lewis Silkin to spearhead the inquiry into accusations of misconduct by the show's co-presenter Gregg Wallace. The company had earlier disclosed that the BBC received complaints about "historical allegations of misconduct" in connection with Wallace.
It was previously stated by Banijay UK that Wallace "is committed to fully co-operating throughout the process." Banijay UK, responsible for shows like Big Brother, in conjunction with the BBC, has released formal statements regarding the ongoing investigation. This probe looks into all claims filed, including an allegation that the ex-market trader reportedly entered the MasterChef studios wearing nothing but a sock and proceeded to perform a "silly dance".
A Banijay UK spokesperson has stated: "This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows."
