MasterChef's guest judge Jay Rayner had some choice words for his peer, William Sitwell, regarding the latter's approach to critiquing contestants on the BBC programme. The cooking contest, which recently saw Gregg Wallace quit with amid allegations of sexual misconduct, is keen to avoid further negative attention.
Rayner went on to caution that Sitwell's style could lead to less than favourable perceptions amongst audiences: "If you don't mind the Great British public hating you, then go for it," he remarked. Meanwhile, renowned TV chef Rick Stein has expressed sympathy for the recently sidelined presenter Gregg Wallace, reports Wales Online.
Stein also credited his children for keeping him attuned to contemporary social currents, saying: "I'm lucky that I've got sons who will instantly tell me, 'listen, you can't say this'."
