A clip from an old episode of Celebrity MasterChef has resurfaced that sees Gregg Wallace tell a contestant 'I'll munch the living daylights out of your little tart'
A clip of Gregg Wallace telling a contestant "I'll munch the living daylights out of your little tart" on MasterChef has resurfaced. It comes as Gregg has stepped away from the show while historical misconduct complaints are externally reviewed by the show’s production company, Banijay UK. The 60 year old has denied allegations of inappropriate sexual comments he is said to have made.
"I am also aware that a video of my time on the show in 2013 is circulating, where Wallace makes a remark to me about a dish I cooked. I took it as an innuendo-laden remark at the time, and I still see it that way now." Yesterday, a statement released by Banijay UK outlined that although complaints have been made to the BBC rather than directly to the production company, an external review will be conducted. It read: "This week the BBC received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows.
A BBC spokesperson commented: “We take any issues that are raised with us seriously and we have robust processes in place to deal with them. We are always clear that any behaviour which falls below the standards expected by the BBC will not be tolerated.
