Match of the Day host Mark Chapman has sadly lost his wife, Sara, who died last week.
Sara, who the TV presenter married in 2000, died on 3 June at the age of 44 with her family surrounding her.Mark’s spokesman confirmed Sara’s death to The Sun and a source said: ‘Sadly Sara passed away on June 3.‘The family was there and it’s just a really sad situation. They’re an extremely private family and would appreciate people respecting that.
Reacting to the sad news, Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan tweeted: ‘God how sad. Deepest condolences to @markchapman & his family.’The BBC Radio 5 Live presenter shared three children with Sara, aged 17, 12 and six. Mark, 46, previously said of his family: ‘I know my family are very proud of me but I don’t look at what I do as being anything particularly special.
‘I’ve got a great job and it’s so much fun but I don’t go in for any of that celebrity-nonsense. I’d much prefer a pint at The Railway any day.’
