Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha has fuelled speculation about a move to Manchester United after liking a social media comment suggesting a January transfer. His future at Wolves is uncertain following a recent misconduct charge and a tumultuous period for the club.
Manchester United-linked Matheus Cunha has hinted at his desire to depart Wolves and make the move to Old Trafford. Having made a sensational start to the 2024/2025 season, the Brazil international has been linked with a high-profile switch to United in recent months. Though Wolves have struggled significantly, Cunha has scored eight goals and picked up three assists from 16 Premier League appearances.
The 25-year-old ended a brief goal drought against Ipswich this past weekend, but Wolves were beaten by a last-minute goal which directly led to the sacking of Gary O'Neil as the club's head coach. Following that decision, footage emerged of Cunha being heavily involved in a post-match brawl which appeared to show him elbow an Ipswich staff member, and then take his glasses. The FA have since put out a statement that stated he has been charged with misconduct and could ,therefore, be facing a significant ban. Wolves have been firmly in the headlines over the last few days after those incidents, with the search to replace O'Neil also seemingly already over. A deal has been agreed for Al-Shabab head coach Vitor Pereira to take over at Wolves with his appointment expected to be confirmed imminently. Cunha had a very strong relationship with O'Neil and it remains to be seen if he will want to remain at Molineux.
