Matildas vs Denmark sets television ratings record
They may be picking apart the opposition on the field, but the Matildas are proving to be equally formidable off it.

The Matildas’ victory over Denmark was the single most-watched broadcast of the year.The Matildas’ 2-0 victory drew a five-city metro audience of 2.294 million viewers on Seven, according to overnight figures released by ratings agency OzTam. The Matildas played Denmark in front of more than 75,000 fans at Stadium Australia in Sydney Olympic Park, taking the lead through an early goal to Caitlin Foord, before Hayley Raso added a second in the second half. Fans at home and in the stadium were also treated to the return of injured superstar Sam Kerr, who was substituted into the game after 80 minutes.
