Presenter Naga Munchetty wasn't impressed
BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty was quick to keep things in order when Matt Lucas appeared on the sofa to discuss his latest venture into children's literature. The interview began with Naga pointing out: "This is your latest book. Well, this is the paperback version of your first novel."
Showcasing his work, Matt said: "This book is a bit different. This is the Boy Who Slept Through Christmas." He was promptly told off by Naga for potentially breaking promotional rules: "You're not allowed to do that," she said, as reported by the Express. Her co-host Charlie Stayt chimed in with a light-hearted jab, "You come on here, and you're breaking the rules already.
He continued, explaining the innovative concept behind his children's book: "And I was writing this children's book, The Boy Who Slept Through Christmas, and I thought one day I'd love this to be a stage musical, and then I decided to turn the book into a musical." Naga Munchetty couldn't resist challenging Matt during their interview, teasingly telling him to "stop it" as he cheekily displayed his book, sparking a range of reactions from viewers. The interview's uncomfortable moments didn't go unnoticed, with one fan describing it as a "car crash".
