While plugging the book back then during an interview with Kelly Clarkson, McConaughey opened up about the devastating moment he discovered his big win wasn't all it was cracked up to be. He was looking through old photos when he noticed what the trophy really said, he told Clarkson. After some further investigation, he discovered his mother had convinced him all those years ago that he was the de facto winner.
