Graeme Souness has questioned Manchester United's decision to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich, with the defender undergoing a medical ahead of a £43m move
Graeme Souness believes Manchester United are overlooking four key concerns in their £43m signing of Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.

He didn't get into the national team during the Euros, he was a squad member," Souness told talkSPORT regarding his first concern. He then added: "He's been at two enormous football clubs, they normally don't like to sell players. That in itself tells a story.
Juventus, plagued by financial troubles that resulted in a ban from European competition last season, could not resist Bayern's reported £65million bid. As for Bayern, they signed Kim Min-jae from Napoli last year and could pocket £43million for their third-choice centre-back. "Jonny Evans played 23 times for Man United, they desperately need a centre-half," Souness said. "I look at De Ligt, he's a lightweight centre-half.
